The 41st Virginia, 2nd Company E. is a re-enactor group that honors the American veterans of the Civil War.  Our purpose is to emulate a unit of soldiers that existed during this period with authenticity and respect.  We recognize that modern times do not universally look kindly upon the Southern Cause, but we know that the men that battled for the South were foremost Americans.  Very few  confederate soldiers were slave owners; they were farmers and tradesmen, fighting for the land they thought was their own.  It is a privilege that we portray these Americans. We can be proud that they struggled the hardest, and the longest with the least;  and that any American army, in victory or defeat, cannot claim that they fought with greater heart or resolve.
